Winter Storm Creates Hazardous Road Conditions on MacKaye Harbor Rd on Lopez Island

The Public Works Department is working with emergency response agencies to monitor and navigate the evolving conditions.
SAN JUAN COUNTY, WA. January 9, 2024 - Lopez Island residents and drivers are encouraged to exercise extreme caution and stay home as winter storm conditions create hazardous road conditions on MacKaye Harbor Road.
As conditions allow, Public Works crews will remove debris from the roadway and repair any damage. Lane restriction and other hazard warnings may be necessary as the situation develops.
The County’s Sheriff’s Office and Public Works Department are monitoring the situation and will respond to changing conditions.
