Thursday 3/25 Judith D. Schwartz @ LCLT Annual Meeting

By Lopez Community Land Trust
March 25 @ 7pm
Join the Lopez Community Land Trust for our Annual Meeting on Thursday, March 25th at 7pm on Zoom. This year, our keynote speaker is Judith D. Schwartz. Judith is an award-winning science journalist, and the renowned author of Cows Save the Planet (2013); Water in Plain Sight (2016); and most recently The Reindeer Chronicles (2020). She lives and works in Bennington, Vermont.
In her work, Judith explores nature-based solutions to global, environmental and economic challenges. She has drawn on the work of Allan Savory to demonstrate the success of Holistic Management in agriculture, using livestock as a vehicle for large scale land restoration, and as one method for reducing the impacts of climate change. She has travelled extensively across the world, and studied how working with nature’s own systems in soil and water can mitigate the imminent climate crisis.
At the LCLT Annual Meeting, Judith will be speaking on the topic of Earth Repair, Home & Abroad and offer a Q&A at the end. Around the world, people are finding that even the harshest and most damaged ecosystems can be restored. The growing eco-restoration movement is creating a “toolkit†and body of knowledge about land regeneration. Her presentation will show where ecosystem restoration has succeeded, and explore how lessons learned can be applied to beloved landscapes everywhere.
Her presentation is not to be missed, and we are deeply honored she will share with us! We hope you will join us for the evening. To access the Zoom, please RSVP at https://forms.gle/s7KZ4FDxQnPqpU9C8
