Lifewise of Washington Pharmacy Service to Stop
Nov 28, 2022
By Lopez Island Pharmacy
Lifewise cancels pharmacy service
The below is a copy of an email we sent to ALL Lifewise patients
*******************************
Our records show that sometime in the past 2 years you have had Lifewise of Washington Insurance. If you do not currently have Lifewise Insurance, please ignore this important information.
In the past several days you may have received a letter informing you that Lopez Island Pharmacy will not be in their pharmacy network in 2023.
The action by Lifewise caught us completely off guard, the letter is directing patients to have their prescriptions filled on a mainland pharmacy OR Lifewise’ s Mail Order Pharmacy.
Prescriptions filled in a timely manner can be lifesaving and reduce other health care costs, such as hospitalizations. Most of you realize how important it is to have a pharmacy that can help you quickly. Just in the past several years during COVID we were one of the first to have vaccines locally and in those first months we vaccinated a large portion of Lopez.
It is not practical for residents living in the San Juans to remove their ability to use their insurance locally.
You can make your concerns heard by calling or emailing or both the below individuals, we will also be calling to remind you to contact your elected officials.
If you wish to be removed from our emailing/phone list, please send a return email stating REMOVE Lifewise in the subject line.
Thank you for your help in this important matter,
Lopez Island Pharmacy
