Lopez Fit to Remain Closed in Phase 2 (From Businesses)

Lopez Fit will remain closed during Phase 2 of our state’s phased approach to re-opening. This was a difficult decision to make, as we know how anxious many of us are to get back into the gym. We have chosen to remain closed for a variety of reasons, but primarily because of the restrictive requirements the state is requiring for gyms to re-open (you can read the Phase 2 Fitness and Training Requirements at the following URL: https://www.governor.wa.gov/sites/default/files/COVID19Phase2FitnessGuidelines.pdf)

We are in full support of these requirements and intend to follow them when we do re-open. However, the Phase 2 requirement that fitness centers cannot allow clients aged 65 or older to attend the gym means that it is not economically viable for us to re-open. With over 70% of our membership in that age demographic, we would not be able to serve the majority of our clients.

We will re-asses our ability to re-open when the Phase 3 Guidelines for Fitness Centers are released. In the meantime, we are reviewing the Phase 2 guidelines and preparing the gym as best we can for our eventual re-opening.
